Biography
Dr. Lee Keat Teong obtained his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2004. He is currently holding the position of Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and he is also the Director of Research Creativity & Management Office and International Collaboration Center, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Dr. Lee has co-authored 2 books, 10 book chapters, 30 review papers and more than 100 research papers in peer reviewed international journals. Dr. Lee is currently the Co-Editor for Energy Conversion and Management (Elsevier) and Editorial Board Member for Bioresource Technology (Elsevier) and Energy Science & Engineering (Wiley). He has also won numerous awards including Young Scientist Award 2011 by The International Forum on Industrial Bioprocess and 2012 Top Research Scientists Malaysia by the Academy Sciences of Malaysia. Recently he is one of the four Malaysian researchers that was recognized as the most cited researchers in the latest Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities 2016 by Subjects (Energy Science & Engineering). Apart from that, he also received the Malaysia's Rising Star Award 2016 for the Young Researcher Category by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and Clarivate Analytics.
Research Interest
Dr. Lee is now working on the production of biofuels (biodiesel and bioethanol) from biomass (including macro and microalgae) using various technologies. Apart from that, he also has special interest on the social and sustainability aspects of biofuels. Key words: Biofuel; biodiesel; bioethanol.
