Biodiesel can be used as an alternative to the petroleum or ‘fossil fuels’. Biodiesel can be produced by simple biochemical process with low production cost. For biodiesel production, most biodiesel produced are at produced form the chip shops, restaurants, industrial food producers such as Birdseye etc. Biodiesel can be used as the best alternative of fossil fuel. Fertilizer production is not the only source of pollution associated with the production of biodiesel. Other sources include the esterification process, the solvent extraction of the oil, refining, drying and transporting. Biodiesel has a higher flash point than fossil diesel and so is safer in the event of a crash.

Biodiesel is produced by transesterifications and esterification of small chain fatty acids of the oil crops. This involves the vegetables or animal’s fats and oils being react with the short chain of alcohols like methanol and ethanol. When Jatropha seeds are crushed to the resulting Jatropha oil can be used to process to produce a high-quality of biofuel or biodiesel that can be using a standard diesel car or further processed into jet fuel, while the residue can also be used as biomass feedstock to power electricity plants, used as a fertilizer or as animal fodder. Research is being for conducted on developing the algae as potential biodiesel feedstock, because it is expected to produce the high yields from a smaller of land than vegetables oils.

Cellulosic ethanol is chemically identical to the first generation. However it is produced from different raw materials via a more complex process (cellulose hydrolysis).the first generation bioethanol, which is derived from the sugar or starch produced by the food crops. These Lignocellulosic raw materials   are more abundant and generally considered by more sustainable and they need to be broken down (hydrolyzed) into simple sugar prior to distillation. Biomass feedstock are fast-growing trees, shrubs, and grasses that are bred for the specific purpose of producing energy (electricity or liquid fuels) from all or part of the resulting plant.

  • Track 3-1Feedstock development
  • Track 3-2Emission of gases
  • Track 3-3Biological conversion approaches
  • Track 3-4Best practices in biomass supply chains
  • Track 3-5The role of pilot-scale production

The second generation biofuels is also known as advanced biofuels. The first generation biofuels are made from the vegetables oils, sugars, and arable crops. The second generation biofuels are made from lignocellulosic biomass, woody crops, and agriculture residues or waste through the fuels can be manufactured from various types of biomass. The term of third generation biofuel has only recently entered to mainstream it refers to biofuel and derived from algae. Previously, algae were lumped in to second generation biofuels. The taking emissions from production and transport into account, life-cycle assessment from first generation biofuels frequently approach those of traditional fossil fuels.

  • Track 4-1Second generation biofuels
  • Track 4-2Third generation biofuels
  • Track 4-3Ethanol fuel
  • Track 4-4Bioethanol and Cellulosic ethanol
  • Track 4-5Forestry-based biofuels

The bio refinery concepts are analogous to today’s petroleum refinery and produce the multiple fuels and products from petroleum. The biorefinery may play a major role in the producing the chemicals and materials that are traditionally produced from the petroleum. This is also used for generating the electricity and process heat through combined heat and power As a result, cost and careful attention to risk management process strategies have become essential for their survival, profitability, and growth of individual firms.

  • Track 5-1Bio refining systems
  • Track 5-2Integrated bio refinery
  • Track 5-3Risk management issues
  • Track 5-4Biofuels production in biorefinaries

Biodiesel can be used in pure form or may not be blended with the petroleum diesel at any concentration in most pump diesel engines. Blends of biodiesel and conventional to hydrocarbon-based diesel are products the most commonly are distributed for using retail diesel fuel marketplace. Biodiesel is also be used as  heating fuel in domestic and commercial boilers, a mix of heating oil and biofuel which is standardized and taxed slightly differently from the  diesel fuel used for transportation. A test flight has been performed by a Czech jet aircraft completely powered by biodiesel.

  • Track 6-1In aerospace sector
  • Track 6-2Biodiesel as a transportation fuel
  • Track 6-3Biodiesel blends
  • Track 6-4Railway and aircraft usage
  • Track 6-5As heating and cleaning oil spills

Biodiesel is made from various types of biofuel crops. All the biofuels are same as amount of vegetable oil may vary. Biofuel refineries are mainly uses vegetable and animal fat into the biofuel releases less toxic chemicals, if spilled or released to the environment. Biodiesel produces less toxic pollutants and greenhouse gases than the petroleum diesel. As more crops are grown to produce the biofuels, more fertilizers is used which can have deva sting effect on environment.

  • Track 7-1Renewable energy source
  • Track 7-2Fossil fuels
  • Track 7-3Greenhouse gases
  • Track 7-4Cleaner biofuel refineries
  • Track 7-5Increased use of fertilizers
  • Track 7-6Clogging in engine

The environmental impact of biodiesel is diverse in the different contents are pollution, biodegrading, greenhouse gas emission, biodegradation in the aquatic environment. Carbon dioxide is one of the major greenhouse gases and burning of biodiesel produce the carbon dioxide emission and similar to those from ordinary fossil fuels. There are many advantages of biofuels over the fossil fuels that make alternative fuel source an attractive option now and in the future. Biofuels have been in production for the last few decades and have really begain to take off with the awareness of global warming going around the world.

  • Track 8-1Pollution control
  • Track 8-2Biodegradation
  • Track 8-3Carbonyl emissions
  • Track 8-4Impact on food security
  • Track 8-5Biofuel over fossil fuel

The supply of biofuels depends on the availability and price of the feedstock.  For a cellulosic biomass market to be feasible, the price offered by suppliers would have to be equal to or lower than what buyers would be willing to pay and still make a profit. The economic analysis that estimates the price of different types of biomass and would be needed to be for the producer to supply the bioenergy and the cost of converting the biomass to fuel. The competition for feedstock economic impacts on the prices of agricultural commodities, food, feedstuffs, forest products Fossil fuel energy and land values.

According to the transparency market reaches new study biofuels and bioenergy are a critical part of the renewable energy mix, being the only renewable that can be used across all three energy sectors. Apart from growth prospects, the biofuel industry faces challenges related to high initial investments and these installation costs for the biofuels and biogas. Several products in the market are namely bioethanol, biodiesel, biogas and others. Global Data’s report is an essential source of information and analysis on the global biodiesel market.
