Track 1. Biodiesel as Alternative Fuel

Biodiesel can be used as an alternative to the petroleum or ‘fossil fuels’. Biodiesel can be produced by simple biochemical process with low production cost. For biodiesel production, most biodiesel produced are at produced form the chip shops, restaurants, industrial food producers such as Birdseye etc. Biodiesel can be used as the best alternative of fossil fuel. Fertilizer production is not the only source of pollution associated with the production of biodiesel. Other sources include the esterification process, the solvent extraction of the oil, refining, drying and transporting. Biodiesel has a higher flash point than fossil diesel and so is safer in the event of a crash.

Track 2. Biodiesel productions

Biodiesel is produced by transesterifications and esterification of small chain fatty acids of the oil crops. This involves the vegetables or animal’s fats and oils being react with the short chain of alcohols like methanol and ethanol. When Jatropha seeds are crushed to the resulting Jatropha oil can be used to process to produce a high-quality of biofuel or biodiesel that can be using a standard diesel car or further processed into jet fuel, while the residue can also be used as biomass feedstock to power electricity plants, used as a fertilizer or as animal fodder. Research is being for conducted on developing the algae as potential biodiesel feedstock, because it is expected to produce the high yields from a smaller of land than vegetables oils.

Track  3. Advanced biofuels

The second generation biofuels is also known as advanced biofuels. The first generation biofuels are made from the vegetables oils, sugars, and arable crops. The second generation biofuels are made from lignocellulosic biomass, woody crops, and agriculture residues or waste through the fuels can be manufactured from various types of biomass. The term of third generation biofuel has only recently entered to mainstream it refers to biofuel and derived from algae. Previously, algae were lumped in to second generation biofuels. Track 5. Biodiesel applications

Biodiesel can be used in pure form or may not be blended with the petroleum diesel at any concentration in most pump diesel engines. Blends of biodiesel and conventional to hydrocarbon-based diesel are products the most commonly are distributed for using retail diesel fuel marketplace. Biodiesel is also be used as  heating fuel in domestic and commercial boilers, a mix of heating oil and biofuel which is standardized and taxed slightly differently from the  diesel fuel used for transportation. Track 8. Advanced & cellulosic ethanol

Cellulosic ethanol is chemically identical to the first generation. However it is produced from different raw materials via a more complex process (cellulose hydrolysis).the first generation bioethanol, which is derived from the sugar or starch produced by the food crops. These Lignocellulosic raw materials   are more abundant and generally considered by more sustainable and they need to be broken down (hydrolyzed) into simple sugar prior to distillation.
