Advanced biofuels

The second generation biofuels is also known as advanced biofuels. The first generation biofuels are made from the vegetables oils, sugars, and arable crops. The second generation biofuels are made from lignocellulosic biomass, woody crops, and agriculture residues or waste through the fuels can be manufactured from various types of biomass. The term of third generation biofuel has only recently entered to mainstream it refers to biofuel and derived from algae. Previously, algae were lumped in to second generation biofuels. The taking emissions from production and transport into account, life-cycle assessment from first generation biofuels frequently approach those of traditional fossil fuels.
